Black Health Matters!
Black Health Matters is a medical podcast dedicated to closing the information gap between the healthcare system and Black Americans. The show brings together physicians, researchers, public health advocates, and community voices to examine the conditions, disparities, and systemic barriers that disproportionately affect Black health outcomes.
Each episode addresses the full spectrum of Black health: from chronic illness and cardiovascular disease to maternal mortality, mental health, and the ways race-based medical bias has shaped diagnosis and treatment. The conversations are honest about the failures of a healthcare system that was not built with Black patients in mind, and practical about what individuals and communities can do in the meantime.
Black Health Matters is for patients, families, and advocates who want accurate, culturally grounded medical information delivered without condescension. The goal is simple: better information leads to better outcomes, and Black lives are worth the effort it takes to get it right.
